How you might ask?
Picture this……A room filled with Life Coaches. Over 400 of them. Some of them doctors, lawyers, astute business professionals, students. Some old, some young, some middle aged, some dead (yes, you read right). Most were women, although the 12 men who did stand among us were truly pioneers.
We had Quick-Starters, and Fact Finders, Implementers and Follow-Thru’ers (to learn more visit www.kolbe.com). We had Ted Talkers, sculptors, artists, singers and dancers.
Boy did we have dancers!
Oh, and we had music. Music that touched our souls.
And we also had each other.
Who is this almighty group you might ask? Life Coaches, trained by Dr. Martha Beck, Oprah’s Life Coach and bestselling author.
I was fortunate enough to be in attendance of that room a few weeks back in San Diego where I attended Martha’s latest 3 day Coaches Summit. It was open to all of Martha’s coaches.
What’s it like to be in a room filled with Martha Beck Life Coaches?
Life altering.
First, you can’t get away with anything. If you think for a second you are going to story fondle, or wallow in limiting beliefs, and get away with it, you are quick to learn you can’t. In fact just uttering a limiting thought attracts a Life Coach to you like ants to a picnic. Why? Because we care and we want our fellow tribe members to thrive. And because we are coaches. We just can’t help ourselves!
Life altering.
There were tears of joy, tears of laughter, tears of sadness. There were hugs and cheers and high fives everywhere. The energy among us was so fierce it was often a challenge to just sit still.
The talents that swarmed the room were endless. Wayfinders, as Martha refers to all of us in her book Finding Your Way in a Wild New World, were forging ahead in areas of life that most have never even allowed ourselves to dream could be possible. Each of us changing the world in our own little (and not so little) way, one turtle step at a time.
Again, life altering.
And as always, Martha delivered. What was the agenda? Who knows! Martha certainly didn’t stick to it. She never does. That’s what’s so refreshing about Martha. She goes with the flow. What was the ‘unofficial’ theme that bubbled to the surface naturally for all of us? “I didn’t see that coming!!” It happened over, and over, and over again to each and every one of us.
Life altering.
With all this warmth and support, and brilliance swirling the room, it is impossible for any of us to leave without having our lives transformed. It is our job as coaches to guide the way for our clients to experience their own transformation.
Talk about life altering.
